The unique government portal e-Albania offers today to Albanian citizens 1207 public services online or in total 95% of all services offered by the Albanian state. Prime Minister Edi Rama and the director of the National Agency for Information Society, Mirlinda Karçanaj today made the work balance, which the head of government has christened as the digital revolution.

According to the Prime Minister, government investments have managed to avoid the ranks of citizens and businesses at the doors of institutions, saving them 472 years of waiting in line and millions of dollars from non-payment of fees. Rama said that the reform of AKSHI has put an end to the horror of the administration that took bribes from citizens. Today, the Prime Minister emphasized, the citizens do not need to go to any office, nor to meet anyone, they do not need to take any step if they have a smart phone with them, or it is enough for us to move only to the nearest computer.

The director of AKSHI, Mirlinda Karçanaj detailed all public services provided today to citizens. "A few years ago, few people believed in the Digital Revolution. Many were skeptical. A part rightly so, but here we are today to talk about an Albanian success story called e-Albania "

Director Karçanaj specified that today there are 1.87 million citizens and businesses that have completed 7.7 million applications. She further spoke about the Government Interaction Platform which enables the interconnection of electronic registers with each other; for electronic signature and electronic stamp, currently, 163 administrative documents are generated with electronic signature 47 documents with electronic stamp; for health where thanks to digitalization, basic health control, scheduling medical visits, medical recommendations, prescriptions are offered online; for the process that is accelerating the Vaccination Passport (through e-Albania, Albanian citizens who will be vaccinated against COVID-19, will be provided with the electronic document with internationally recognized standard); for the assistance of the needy, for permits and licenses, justice and agriculture and so on.

The director further stressed that all this state investment in technology, interaction and secure networks will be made available to the private sector.

It is also planned to use blockchain technology in property and health records, creating a "Big Data" data center

One of the future challenges will be the implementation of smart city parameter measurement systems and their use to facilitate the life of the citizen and business.

"Everything, for everyone. This is our motive. And believe me, this is just the beginning "- concluded Karçanaj.

Some international institutions such as the OECD, the UN or even the EU have praised the reform of the Albanian government to pass online services to its citizens.
