Europol cracks the "Matrix" app, used by criminals to send encrypted messages

A coordinated international operation, led by the authorities of France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Lithuania and Spain, has led to the dismantling of the encrypted application "Matrix", used by criminals for their illegal activities.
Europol announced the end of the operation on December 3, uncovering more than 2.3 million decrypted messages in 33 languages.
This is the fifth app to be detected by the authorities after other popular platforms such as Sky ECC, Encrochat, Exclu and Ghost. "Matrix" is a messaging service that criminals use for encrypted communication and high security.
