Fidel Ylli: Online bets will be played through a bank account! 15% profit tax will be paid
The head of the Olympic Committee, Fidel Ylli, in an interview for Report TV, said that the return of online betting will have some strict rules to prevent it from being played by people under the age of 18. Ylli said that bets will only be placed online through a bank account and that people who decide to play will pay 15% of the amount if they win.
"If you look at the law of betting companies before they were closed, it had become a law of European standards, but since we live in Albania in a country where anyone is corrupt, they had gotten out of control since the time of the DP but even more after. If the law said that one betting point had to be 300 meters from another point, you had climbed them. With the new law, the player will pay 15% of what he will win, which was not the case until yesterday," Ylli said.
He also added that the income from betting points that will be poured into the state budget, will not go to the government but to an agency that will then manage it to invest it only for sports.
