The head of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, resigns

The head of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, has resigned.

Rrumbullaku held this office for two years.

Currently, his duties have been delegated to the deputy director Sokol Bizhga until the end of the competition to elect the new head of the State Police.

Meanwhile, the new Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, will gather today at 10:00 a.m. all district police directors, the general director of the State Police, as well as department directors. Rrumbullaku is also expected to be at the meeting, although he has already submitted his resignation.

In this meeting, the new police law is expected to be discussed, mainly for the selection procedure of the head, local directors. These positions, according to the new law, will be selected by commissions.

Muhamet Rrumbullaku was appointed head of the State Police on September 7, 2022, after the dismissal of Gladis Nanos.
