The mayor of Mallakastra, Qerim Ismailaj, has been sentenced to 6 months in prison by the GJKKO, which is commuted to 40 hours of work for the public interest.
Ismailaj is accused of committing the criminal offense "Forgery of seals, stamps or forms".
"In application of Article 63 of the Criminal Code, the suspension of the execution of the prison sentence for the defendant Qerim Ismailaj and the obligation to perform work in the public interest, without remuneration, for a period of 40 (forty) hours, which will is fulfilled within the period of 6 months, provided that during this time he maintains regular contact with the Probation Service" - the announcement states.
After leaving SPAK, he told the media that he is innocent and that he will continue fighting for his innocence.
"Being convinced of my complete innocence, but also following all the procedures, I will continue the battle at all levels of justice. I will not resign from the mandate," he said.
