The Ministry of Defense updates the situation with the fires in the country: The fires in Shengjin are isolated
The firefighting forces, supported by those of the Armed Forces, State Police, Forestry Service, Protected Areas or even volunteer forces, under the coordination of the Civil Defense Agency, have worked on several fronts to extinguish the fires in several areas of the country.
The work has continued throughout the night without interruption in the problematic hearth in the village of Mal Shengjin, where today the situation is more stabilized. In addition to the intervention of the Cougar helicopter from the air, two Canadair planes from Italy also came in support, part of the assistance from the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
Fortunately there were no injuries, but only minimal damage to businesses around the fire area, 2 beach bars and the roof of a home.
At present, the complete isolation of the outbreaks has been achieved and the operation for its final extinguishment by the fire services, the FA, the police, and the local structures, supported by 2 Canadair planes from Italy, is continuing.
Work is also continuing to extinguish the fire in the village of Zavalin, Elbasan municipality, for which the local government structures supported by the FA have been engaged today.
Active are the fire in the hills of Lake Viroi, the municipality of Gjirokastër, the fire above the city of Tepelena, which today as a result of the strong wind has gone out of control. Local structures supported by the Armed Forces and an FA helicopter were engaged today to normalize the situation.
Work is underway in Lozhan-Bode village, Maliq municipality, in Picar village, Vorë municipality on a commercial facility, in Ujanik village, Skrapar municipality. While the situation in other regions is relatively calm.
