Bad weather has caused problems for vehicle movement in the north, northeast, and southeast of the country.
Several administrative units are blocked in the Dibra region, while the most problematic situation is on the "Arbri" road, which has become impassable due to snowfall.
The situation up to this moment is as follows:
Road axes
- In the Dibra region, the "Arbri" road is impassable in Qafë Murriz due to heavy snowfall. Contracting companies are working to open this road.
- In the municipality of Dibër, several administrative centers with main axes such as; Lura, Selishtë, Luzni, Kala e Dodës and Zall Dardhë have been blocked.
- In the Bulqiza municipality, the administrative units of Ostren and Trebisht are blocked.
- In the municipality of Klos, secondary roads to villages connecting to the administrative centers of Suç, Gura and Xibar have been blocked.
- In the Mat municipality, several village roads connecting to the administrative centers of Macukull, Lis, Derjan and Komsi have been blocked.
- The Peshkopi-Ulëz road axis, in the place called Qafë Ulëz, has been blocked due to the presence of snow, ice and vehicles moving without winter tires. Today, traffic is operating normally.
- Rural roads connecting the Fushë-Arrëz municipality with the Iballë administrative unit and its villages are blocked.
- On the Elbasan-Qafë Thane road axis, at the place called "Murrashit bends: there was the presence of inert materials on the road. In Qafë Thane there was snowfall which made the circulation of heavy vehicles difficult. During the night and in the morning hours of today, work continues to clean and salt the road on the Qafë Thane - Pogradec axis. Circulation is carried out with winter tires.
- On the Tirana-Elbasan road axis at the exit of the tunnel, there were problems with traffic as the terrain was very wet and icy. Traffic was only in one direction. During the night and today, salt was distributed and traffic is being driven with winter tires.
- In the municipality of Kruja, the Cudhi Kamp-Qafështamë road axis is blocked by snowfall.
- On the Vuno - Himara road axis, at the place called the Visha bridge, a rock mass has fallen. The road is passable in one direction and work is underway to open the other side.
- The road to Shëngjergj, Tirana municipality, is difficult to pass due to the amount of snowfall.
- In Lanabregas, as a result of the blockage of the collector, there was the presence of water, risking flooding a house.
- In the Fresku - Trau Dajt segment, at km 5 there was a landslide blocking one of the lanes. Work is underway to clear the road.
- In the municipality of Vlora, the situation is calm. There is no water presence in the city.
Snowplows are working today to keep traffic routes open and clear roads blocked by snow.
According to reports from the civil protection system structures at the local level, all rivers and reservoirs are within their normal quotas and do not pose any danger, except in the village of Murqinë, Bubq administrative unit, Krujë municipality, where the Ishëm river has overflowed its bed, flooding an area of 20 hectares of agricultural land.

The weather is expected to be alternating with medium and dense cloudiness, however, there will be occasional short-term intervals with clear skies mainly along the Western Lowlands. Low-intensity rainfall in most of the territory, and locally isolated short-term thunderstorms until noon. After noon, gradually decreasing rainfall intensity.
In the northeast-east-southern mountainous reliefs at altitudes above 400-600 meters, snowfall of low to medium intensity is expected. Isolated, short-term snowfalls in the Alps and high mountainous reliefs are expected in the form of snowstorms. Dense fog/haze due to snowfall and rain. Strong frosts along road axes, mainly in mountainous reliefs.
The wind will blow from the Northeast-East with an average speed of 4-14 m/s. Along the coastline and valley areas, the wind will blow at a speed of 16-26 m/s.
Extreme temperatures are expected to fluctuate:
In mountainous areas: minimum temperatures will drop to -6°C, while maximum temperatures will rise to -2°C.
In low-lying areas: minimum temperatures will drop to -2°C, while maximum temperatures will rise to 7°C.
On the coast: minimum temperatures will drop to 4°C, while maximum temperatures will rise to 7°C.
