Edi Rama for the high prices of the South: Vlonia will fall into the pit of its

In a meeting with the 61 mayors of the country, Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the price increase in hotels and services in the South of the country, during this summer season.

Rama said that the government cannot impose prices on tourist operators, but he advised businesses in the South to stop the illogical increase in prices, as according to him what is happening on the beaches of the Albanian Riviera is suicide in economic terms, the consequences of which will be felt more in the coming tourist seasons.

"The government and municipalities do not set the prices, this is the system we have chosen and we cannot set the prices of hotels or restaurants, nor can we control or impose them. In Vlora Ermal, in Saranda Olti where there are two points of an absurd increase in prices, it is very important to talk to the hotel operators and tell them that this is not only unfair, but this is strategically suicide for them. It should be said that the illogical increase in prices comes at a very high cost next year. If it were so easy, the whole world would have played this sport. They did it and got back bitter lessons. Before it is too late, it should be communicated so that the prices are reasonable. Look at Durrës, Shengjin, Velipoja, they are stable. The Vlora residents are the apple of this trouble because now that Vlora has become so sought after and competitive, the hole in the chest of the Vlora residents has opened and made a pit where those who raise the prices in this beacon of religion will fall. I do not feel sorry for them but it is unfair and shameful to create an absurd climate when we have just entered the Champions League of Mediterranean tourism. Better the eye than the nose. The people of Vlonia have lost their eyes and their stomachs, and those who built those hotels have lost their brains. We have to go down to the ground a little bit, you can't tell the people of Vlonia, but at least go down to the second floor."
