Rama from Luxembourg on EU integration: Today we start with the most difficult part of the work
Prime Minister Rama spoke to the media shortly before the start of the work of the Second Intergovernmental Conference in Luxembourg. According to Rama, the most difficult part of the work starts today and October 15 can mark a historic step in this integration process.
"We start with the most difficult part of the work. 5 more chapters are opened plus 3 criteria that will make us go ahead and complete what is required of us within the deadline.
We have been very committed to the EU since the first day we fled the hell of dictatorship, the most isolated country in Europe. Regardless of the situation in the EU, we have never given up because the EU is for us the only place where we want to be and what we want to leave to future generations. This moment is also special thanks to Putin who, because of the war, woke up even the most skeptic and made them understand that the Western Balkans are necessary for the EU even as the EU is for us.
We will do our best and run to make sure that this window of opportunity will not close without us within the EU", said Rama.
The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, the country that holds the next Presidency of the EU. After the meeting at around 09:25 a press conference of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, is expected.
