Medical students boycott the first day of classes. Cause of the new law on forced labor within the country
Medical students did not enter the auditorium today. They have gathered in front of the dean's office in protest of the new law that forces them to stay the first 5 years of work inside the country.
According to them, this boycott will continue. The students say that they will prepare a lawsuit against the law to then send it to the Supreme Court.
The law approved by Parliament requires students to stay for the first 5 years after graduation to serve in Albania. Students who do not stay will be free to leave provided they pay the full tuition fee for each year, which is cost-wise much higher than what they currently pay.
