For two months, the General Directorate of Road Transport Services has issued a new Vehicle Traffic Permit, which has replaced three documents into one. Its cost is now 2,100 Lek from 3,500 Lek it used to cost, decreasing by 40%.
"The new format of the Circulation Permit unifies the old Circulation Permit, Ownership Certificate and International Vehicle Permit in a single document. The cost of the Traffic Permit is now 2,100 Lek from the 3,500 Lek it cost before, reducing the fee by 40%, and increasing the benefits for citizens. From this reduction, citizens have been saved 45,813,600 Lek in less than 2 months. During the period from June 6 to July 29, 2022, 32,724 new Traffic Permits were issued. Compared to 2021, 1,874 more were issued (or +6%), while compared to 2018, there were 11,099 more (or +51%). The data of this document are codified according to the EU, with high quality security elements, QR code, resistant project, year of production, first year of vehicle registration, personalization with punctuation, etc.
The new Vehicle Circulation Permit is issued for new registrations or when the citizen updates the vehicle data, when ownership changes, when the old permit is lost or damaged, and when the citizen wants to get the new permit himself. It is not mandatory for the holders of the old Vehicle Circulation Permit to renew or change it," says a statement from DPSHTRR.
