Fires in Shengjin endanger homes and businesses! The help of KFOR is requested
A large-scale fire has engulfed various areas in Shengjin since yesterday evening, endangering the homes and businesses located nearby.
The situation appears very alarming, where a house and a bar have burned, as the fire continues to spread rapidly, helped by the wind.
Over 40 fire engines and 150 operational forces have been deployed to extinguish the flames.
Hundreds of tourists and residents have been evacuated, while two Canadair planes of the European civil defense have also gone to help.
In the afternoon, the authorities asked the residents of the neighborhood near the port to move due to the fear of a possible explosion, as there was a fuel station with a 5,000-liter gas tank nearby.
Air intervention by two Canadair jets from Italy helped bring the situation under control. In the meantime, the operation was suspended as it is impossible for planes to fly at night.
Interior Minister Taulant Balla, who arrived in Shengjin late in the afternoon, said that the help of KFOR has also been requested.
"We are in contact with KFOR to receive their helicopters. In case the wind stops and it is predicted to stop at midnight, things will change for the better. All our work is impossible to give the result we want. This is a summary of the moment It is being fought for more than 24 hours. And we need a part of the fire fighters in places where the new fires appear. There are currently 5 fires in Shengjin," said Balla.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
