The Cervantes Institute, which promotes Spanish language and culture around the world, has announced that Gabriel García Márquez, author of One Hundred Years of Solitude, has surpassed Miguel de Cervantes as the most translated writer in the Spanish language.

In second place is Isabel Allende and in third is Jorge Luis Borges.
