Prince Charles says he has nothing to do with his portrayal in Netflix's 'The Crown'
UK protocol is that politicians should not reveal what royals tell them, but Scottish Labor leader Anas Sarwar has revealed what Prince Charles thinks about the Netflix series The Crown, which critics claim it is full of inaccuracies.
Sarwar said that when Charles arrived at an event at the Edinburgh Fringe, he made no secret of his disappointment with the series, saying: "I'm not at all who they portray me to be on Netflix."
Critics have said The Crown's account of the breakdown of Prince Charles's marriage to Diana has been distorted and at times completely inaccurate during its fourth series and that viewers were misled into believing its fictional account of events.
Despite concerns within Buckingham Palace about the portrayal of events, Prince Charles has so far made no public comment.
The Crown, one of Netflix's most popular series, portrays the Queen's life from her wedding in 1947 to the beginning of the 21st century.
During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden last year, Prince Harry, unlike his father, said he was happy with The Crown's portrayal of the royal family, noting that while it is not strictly correct, it gives a rough idea of the pressure of being a royal.
