"My Artisan Tradition", the special mission that started the journey in Albania
A very special mission has started its journey in Albania. Looking from the past, the initiative "My Artisan Tradition" devotes all its attention to Albanian cultural tradition and values. Albanian handicrafts are a tradition with precious values, created for centuries by popular craftsmen, in each of its provinces.
In order to preserve this cultural value, this social initiative will "inherit" to young people the tradition of helping girls and women. The Joscelyn Foundation (a non-governmental, non-profit organization) has launched the social enterprise "My Artisan Tradition" which is supported by the OSCE and AICS - Agenzia Italiana Cooperazione allo Sviluppo through ENGIM Internacional, as part of the RISE-ALB project.
All those who want to become professionals in this "art" now have an open door and an opportunity to move forward, despite everything that may have happened in life. And not only that! This initiative also helps a special category of people in need, abused women or with economic and social problems.
