Was the royal family contacted while filming Meghan and Harry's Netflix series?
At the beginning of the series of Meghan and Harry it is said that: "the members of the royal family refused to comment on the content"
But a Royal Palace source claims otherwise. According to PEOPLE, neither family members nor Buckingham Palace or Prince William's office at Kensington Palace could be reached for comment on the Netflix series, which premiered Thursday.
On the other hand, a Netflix source told PEOPLE that King Charles and Prince William were contacted in advance and given the right to respond to the allegations within the series.
All interviews were completed by August 2022, a month before Prince Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth died.
In the first three episodes, Meghan and Prince Harry talk about their decision to step back from royal life in 2020.
"Unfortunately, they are destroying us," says Meghan, referring to the royal family.
While Harry says that at first, his family was impressed with Meghan. "What clouded their judgment was that she was an American actress," he said.
