Protesters march in Paris against the pension reform, the Eiffel and the Louvre museum are closed

French protesters marched in Paris on the 10th day of action coordinated by unions against the government's pension reforms, which raise the retirement age from 62 to 64.
They blocked the train tracks serving one of Paris' main railway stations, Gare de Lyon.
The Eiffel Tower's website announced that strikers had closed the world-famous tourist attraction. Even the Louvre museum was closed.
Marches were also held in other cities. Fears that violence could disrupt planned demonstrations across the country prompted what Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin described as an unprecedented deployment of 13,000 officers, nearly half of them concentrated in the French capital.
Union leaders and political foes of President Emmanuel Macron blame his government for the protest violence that has flared in recent weeks.
Critics also claim that police officers are using excessive force against protesters.
