The New Royals, the newest book that reveals more truths about Meghan Markle
Katie Nicholl's latest book, The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown, has revealed some more truths about Kate Middleton and Prince William's relationship with his brother Harry and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle.
An extract from the book, which was published in Vanity Fair, shows how everything changed for William and Kate shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan went public with their relationship.
"Kate Middleton and Prince William felt they had to improve their image when Meghan Markle got engaged to Prince Harry and charmed the public," claims Katie Nicholl in the new book.
She points to one episode in particular in a TV studio, the first where the four of them appeared, and where Meghan excelled with her preparation and public speaking.
This moment is even described as a wake-up call for Kate and William.
It was February 2018 when the two royal couples attended a forum where they talked about their charity projects.
Nicholl writes in her book that Meghan was the absolute "star" of the foursome, showing off her wit and charm as she spoke on the panel and answered questions.
She quotes a source as saying, "This was a wake-up call for William and Kate as they realized Meghan was very impressive, very confident and very capable."
