From Friday, foreign drivers in Hungary will pay a higher price for diesel, compared to Hungarian citizens.
Under the new decree, cars with foreign license plates will not be able to be supplied at the fixed price of 1.32 euros per liter of diesel, but will pay the market price.
According to media reports, this price is on average 40 percent higher than that for residents.
The government of right-wing nationalist Viktor Orban set a fixed price for oil in November last year.
The regulation, which is valid until July 1, was intended to ensure that Hungarian drivers do not face global price increases.
So far, even foreign drivers have been able to be supplied with diesel in Hungary at a fixed price.
However, government representatives decided on Thursday that from now on the market price will be applied to foreigners.
