Hague tribunal chief prosecutor claims life in prison for Hashim Thaci: He could escape and commit other crimes

The Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Office in The Hague, Jack Smith, has sent a letter to the Pre-Trial Judge, Nicola Guillou, stating that the former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi should be sentenced to life imprisonment.
Through the letter, Smith states that Thaçi could have escaped since the unconfirmed indictment had not yet been made public, so Thaçi would use this opportunity not to be arrested.
The chief prosecutor also claimed in the letter that the former president of Kosovo could have committed other crimes.
"While certain and general data regarding the submitted and unconfirmed indictment have been published, Mr. Thaçi's incentive to flee, to obstruct proceedings and to commit further crimes will increase drastically. "Once he is informed of the confirmed indictment and the details of the confirmed charges, which could lead to life imprisonment," reads the document that Jack Smith sent to the Pre-Trial Judge.
