The dinner for King Charles cost the presidency of France 475 thousand euros

A state expenditure report in France has recently revealed that a dinner for British King Charles III cost the French president's office €475,000, the BBC writes.

President Emmanuel Macron was keen to impress the young monarch on his September visit, as guests were served blue arragosta, crab and various assortments of cheeses.

The annual report of the presidential accounts recently revealed the amount that is supposed to have been spent, warning that the government dinners had contributed to the €8.3 million deficit in the country's budget.

Also at the banquet dinner were American actor Hugh Grant, football coach Arsene Wenger and former Rolling Stone musician Mick Jagger.
