The Supreme Court in the United States ruled that Donald Trump's name cannot be removed from the ballot for the November presidential race, thus overturning the decision made earlier by the state of Colorado to exclude the former president.
Colorado barred the former president from the state's primary ballot in December, citing the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, but the court ruling clears the way for Trump to compete in the primary. In their ruling Tuesday this Monday, the US Supreme Court says:
"We conclude that states may disqualify persons who hold or seek to hold state office. But the states have no power under the Constitution to enforce Section 3 in relation to federal offices, particularly the Presidency.”
