King Charles has recalled how his mother practiced holding the crown for her coronation while washing it when he was a child.
“It's very important to keep it for a certain period of time, because then you get used to it,” says Charles.
These comments are included in a documentary to be released next year.
The king also spoke about his coronation and the feeling of "anxiety" he had about wearing the heavy St. Edward's Crown.
Although he was only four years old at the time of his mother's coronation in 1953, he said many of his memories of the preparations for the ceremony were still vivid.
