UK launches investigation into Google

The UK's competition watchdog has launched an investigation into tech giant Google, which is being investigated for whether the company has too much power over online search.

Google accounts for 90% of internet searches in the UK, and the Competition and Markets Authority is investigating whether it is using this dominant position to harm competition or choice for users.

This is the first investigation into the tech giant after gaining new powers to investigate and implement changes in firms it determines have strategic status in digital markets.

The Competition and Markets Authority has told foreign media that Google is being investigated mostly for whether it is delivering good results.

The technology company expresses its willingness to cooperate with regulatory authorities, but on the other hand says that all this must have a limit.
