In Italy 1 in 10 inhabitants lives in absolute poverty

This is what the 2023 Report on Poverty in Italy says. According to the report, there are over 5 million 674 thousand absolute poor in Italy (+357 thousand compared to 2021), equal to 9.7% of the population: one in ten inhabitants.
Fifteen years ago the phenomenon affected only 3% of the population, and it is indicative of how compromising the severe global crises experienced since 2008 have been for Italy, from the collapse of Lehman Brothers, sovereign debt crises, to the Covid-19 Pandemic , to which are already added the effects of the conflict in Ukraine, which are severely affecting economic growth, the consumer price index and monetary policies.
