US President Joe Biden has recently said that the US has offered North Korea a vaccine against Covid, following the outbreak of the virus in the communist country in recent days.

Biden said he has not yet received a response on whether North Korea will accept the aid offered.

"We have provided vaccines, not only for North Korea, but also for China, and we are prepared to do that immediately. "We have not received any response," Biden told a joint news conference in Seoul with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol.

According to state media in North Korea, about 2.5 million people may have been infected with Covid-19 while the country is in quarantine.

At the start of the pandemic, North Korea was among the few countries in the world that did not report any cases of Covid and refused assistance from COVAX or other vaccine-related countries.
