UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in a speech and a message to oil and gas companies and made a call to all governments. Guterres says that these companies are using the situation of the energy crisis to make colossal profits and that this is not moral.
"It is immoral for oil and gas companies to make colossal profits in this energy crisis, at the expense of poor people, communities and climate damage. The profits from this business go for the first quarter of the year of 100 billion dollars in the USA. I suggest to the governments to tax them for these profits and with the tax money to subsidize the poor families", said Guterres.
The prices of oil and gas have increased significantly all over the world, especially after the war in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in Albania, the Transparency Board has set the new prices that come into effect today, August 6, at 6:00 p.m.
The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard should be no more than 220 ALL/liter, while the wholesale price no more than 208 ALL/liter.
The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 199 ALL/liter, while the wholesale price no more than 187 ALL/liter.
The retail price of the by-product gas should be 80 ALL/liter retail and 68 ALL/liter wholesale for vehicles.
