Elisa Spiropali is elected Speaker of the Assembly with 75 votes in favor

With 75 votes "for" and 4 "against", Elisa Spiropali has been elected as the new Speaker of the Assembly of Albania.
Voting for Spiropal was conducted electronically, unable to be conducted with a ballot box, due to the tensions involving the Assembly hall from the opposition MPs.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is a difficult political, social, civic exercise, both personal and collective, but in the end I am clear that in this exercise what goes well is yours. I want to thank from the bottom of my heart a lady that I replaced today. Dear Lindita, during these three years, you led the assembly with dedication, wisdom and respect, which has always seemed superhuman to me. I will modestly try to be like you and I wish to get a little closer to you in patience. Dear colleagues of the opposition, know that I will see you the same in front of you, but you will not face me, but you will find me well-willed, the same with the left colleagues. I beg to be first among equals," Spiropali said.
