Erion Braçe, even with a legal initiative to protect farmers, wants to give the status of commercial companies
Former Deputy Prime Minister Erion Braçe has filed a legal initiative for the support of farmers in the Parliament of Albania. Through a new draft law, the socialist MP aims to guarantee by law to farmers and livestock farmers the same protection as commercial companies.
Specifically, in the law on "Delayed Payments in Contractual and Commercial Obligations", in its article 1, article 3 and article 4, it is foreseen that after the phrase "Commercial Company", "Agricultural Producers" should be added.
According to Braçe, these legal changes are due to non-payment of obligations to agricultural producers on time by large traders, creating many problems for farmers up to the impossibility of continuing agricultural and livestock activities in the following seasons.
It is also underlined that their inclusion in this law will further promote the formalism of agricultural and livestock producers, as well as the formalism of any transaction in the markets of these products.
