Rama: We have never been so united as today

The Prime Minister started his speech about the sad fate that many of the signatories of independence suffered from Hoxha's dictatorial regime, to continue with today's achievements, where he spoke about the Port of Durrës, a long debated topic in the last week.

"At the beginning of next year we open the international competition for the New Port of Durrës that will be built in Porto Romano and at the beginning of the second 6 months we will be on site at the new Port of Porto Romao which will be a joint project which will be connected to Pristina and Struga with two dry ports".

While talking about Kosovo and the reports, he said:

"The relations between Albania and Kosovo today are no longer simply excellent. They are also more productive than ever before. And this is shown by the facts produced not only by the joint meetings between the two governments but also by the increased ability to implement mutually beneficial cooperation in practice. Just look at the data of trade exchanges or the common primer.”

Regarding the recognition of Kosovo's independence, he said: "Let me share with you the conviction that Albanians have never been better in relation to foreigners, but even today I don't think they are better in relation to themselves. Let's go back with the mind's eye, not only to today's view of Kosovo compared to years ago. I believe that her final recognition will come sooner than later."

Rama ended the speech with a sentence about Hashim Thaçi:

"I will bring two names here to attention without which neither the arrival to this day nor the continuity beyond this day can be understood: LDK and UÇK. Both of these are related to Ibrahim Rugova, a great absentee today, as passed away prematurely, but with a mission accomplished, and Hashim Thaçin, another great absentee in this hall, who is temporarily separated from us with a continuing mission".
