Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama at the joint conference in Zagreb with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic called for the EU to apply punitive measures and sanctions to Serbia.

"Measures should also be taken for Serbia. In no way can it be accepted that in the middle of Europe and a region, a criminal group armed to the teeth militarily with illegal uniforms takes the life of a policeman and enjoys the highest honor, national mourning. This is the peak, unacceptable"

For his part, Croatian Prime Minister Plenkovic emphasized that these movements "cannot remain unanswered" and that Belgrade's decision on the day of mourning "almost means identification with what happened".
