Certificate of appreciation for the most dedicated volunteers of the year

The two high school students, Reivis Qoku from the "Ismail Qemali" school and Kejsi Zeraliu from the "Sami Frashëri" high school, have been announced as volunteers of the year 2023. On the International Volunteer Day, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, distributed certificates of appreciation to the young people. who have dedicated time to society and community.

In the speech delivered at the certificate distribution ceremony for the most dedicated volunteers of the year, Veliaj said that Tirana is a good example of volunteering, which has been shown in cases of natural disasters, such as earthquakes or pandemics.

"Being a volunteer is not a question of a country that has or a country that does not have income, it is not even a question of the possibilities of those who have a lot of money or little money. "Volunteering never goes out of fashion and I am super proud of each of you, who have given an hour, a day, a week, or even a single activity as a volunteer to the Municipality of Tirana and our city," said Veliaj.

"It's very important to do well in school - that's your main job, but I believe that apart from being a good student, being a good boy, a good girl, being a good citizen is just as important. Next year we will again have needs in our social centers, in children's homes, so we welcome your help, also to help people with disabilities, grandparents who need love and respect and the gratitude that comes from your heart, Veliaj added.

Students who received certificates of appreciation expressed their gratitude for this appreciation. "I am very happy and really Grateful! It was the most beautiful way to end this year and after today I do not question that my activity and commitment in voluntary work will be even greater," said Reivis Qoku. "It is a great honor to be one of the best volunteers of 2023 and this definitely shows that we will continue at the same pace and with my great contribution," said Kejsi Zeraliu.

This day was designated by the UN General Assembly in 1985 and is dedicated to all the many volunteers around the world.
