Introducing you to the architect of Air Albania
The National Arena, or Air Albania Stadium was rebuilt on the land of the old Qemal Stafa stadium, but much larger, with other standards and with more than one purpose.
The new stadium was designed by Casamonti, the architect whom the mayor Veliaj calls unique and today he posted photos with it, writing:
"In Tirana, with the unique architect, Marco Casamonti??, the author of our beautiful stadium, Air Albania?.
Like many Urban Renaissance projects - the square, the bazaar, the lake, the boulevard, the ring - the stadium was mocked and talked about incessantly!
"Today that it has become the center of attention, has not the time come for us Albanians not to hinder each other, but to roll up our sleeves for work and progress?"
Created by Casamonti, the stadium structure is a special multi-faceted (octagonal) shape so that each side allows access to the other separate parts. In one corner of the stadium structure is a 112 meter (24 storey) tall tower, which is currently the tallest tower in Albania.
The tower is in function of offices or shops as a large business and commercial center.
The first official match at Air Albania Stadium was played between the national teams of Albania and France. Today will be played the first European final between Rome of Italy and Feyenoord of the Netherlands.
