Veliaj in Opinion, shows in detail how the Pyramid, the largest technology center, will work
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, spoke about the project that is being developed at Piramida in Tirana. For the show "Opinion", Veliaj said that Piramida will be one of the largest public schools of technology in Albania. He showed some details about how this school will work, as he also emphasized the help that the Municipality of Tirana will provide for the children who will choose this school.
"It will be transformed not only in aesthetics, but also in function. Today, the Pyramid is a symbol of openness and the training of young people in the jobs of the future. It will be the largest technology school to learn coding, the trades of the future. If you look around the campus, it's really a campus with 32 cubes. Today we have 1,000 students in the stadium section, we want to go with TUMO to 5,000 students. The principle for any country is that if 1% of the population is a professional coder, that country has hope to be ideal for the jobs of the future. Today we have an ambition to have more than 10 thousand young people coding as professionals in Tirana.
On the minus one floor there is a Ring that has spaces for offices and services. The cubes are all classrooms and it's all a maze, inside and out. It will all be an open campus. We are at the stage where we are planting the trees and we are doing the same operation as in "Skenderbej" square, that is, we are bringing the already grown trees so that there is no imbalance between a big beautiful thing and the trees that are sprouts. The operation has been successful so far. It is the project I love the most and have dedicated the most time to. It was really a challenge to find the finances, to make these partnerships, because let's not forget that it was one of the most debated buildings", said Veliaj.
