After a few months spent in the tent, after the November 26 earthquake, she today received the keys to the new house, which is not only safer, but also in conditions many times better than before. The house was rebuilt thanks to the initiative of the well-known Albanian model, Xhesika Berberi, who raised funds and donated them for the construction of the Çekirri family apartment.
While thanking Jessica, but also the many friends who contributed, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj said that about 1 thousand individual houses have been commissioned for reconstruction.
"The state does what it can, but the state also has limits. When the state does not do everything itself, it seeks help from society, from celebrities, from those who have the opportunity, from people who inspire others. Thanks to Jessica, Adrola Dushi and all the other artists who have a reputation, instead of using the reputation for more vanity, for Instagram and Facebook, they decided to use this reputation to make Nuri and little Enos home. Therefore, I too have a heart full of gratitude for them. We will do our job, we are in a phase where we have 1 thousand houses ordered, but every person who takes away a part of the burden, gives us a hand ", said Veliaj.
Amidst the emotions and tears of joy, the Albanian model, Jessica Berberi showed how she decided to raise funds for the reconstruction of the house. She assured that the initiative will not stop there, but very soon the works will start for another apartment, to make happy another family in need.
"The idea to contribute to this difficult day for Albanians, came simply from the heart. My heart ached when I saw how one morning, when an earthquake struck and many houses were destroyed, many people lost their lives and I felt it necessary to give my contribution. I thought of opening a page in Go Fund. I can not leave without thanking Adrola Dushi, who gave a lot of support here. Also, all the people who donated because that was the most beautiful thing. From all of us these funds were raised and it became possible to build two houses. "It is the thing that has made me most proud so far, I have decided to help another family and I will build another house," she said.
Mayor Veliaj added that if all of us as a society, instead of dividing and slandering, decide to contribute and cooperate, the country will become better.
"It's nice to discover that someone on the other side of the ocean, who also has a heart, also mobilizes his acquaintances, does not choose to curse and criticize, that no one is perfect, but says: I can not make 3 thousand houses , yes I will do 2 or 3 today, and one I took on tomorrow. If we function as a society in this way, where everyone helps as much as they can, then the place also becomes better. Nation, state, Albania are abstract notions, it is the sum of people who make the country and if the sum is positive, so everyone does the best, does not divide, does not slander, does not insult, but contributes, helps, cooperates, shows solidarity, then also the country is getting better ", said Veliaj.
