The Vice-President of the European right-wing parties congratulates Tirana for the title "European City of Sports 2023"
The Vice President of the European right-wing parties (EPP), Andrey Kovatchev, member of the European Parliament, who officially gave Tirana the title of "European City of Sports" for 2023, says that the Albanian capital fully deserves this assessment. He called the title a good opportunity for Tirana to focus on sports and healthy living.
Kovatchev handed over the title to the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, in a special ceremony at the European Parliament.
"I am extremely happy that Tirana is the next "European City of Sports". This is a great opportunity for Tirana to increase its visibility, to invest even more in sports infrastructure for all sports, sports for different minorities, sports for young people in schools, sports for active people, sports for the elderly, for adults. This is the great idea of ??sports to unite and integrate. Every euro invested in sports is a euro saved for any possible medical treatment related to health problems. Again, congratulations to my friends in Tirana and all the citizens of Albania," said Andrey Kovatchev, member of the European Parliament and vice president of the EPP.
After the year as the European Youth Capital, Tirana has been announced next year as the European City of Sports, which, just like the year that is ending, was filled with activities focused on young people, and in 2023, it will program more than 1,000 sports activities.
