Madonna postpones her biopic a week after announcing world tour

The biographical film of Madonna, who has been working for two years to bring a film about her life, has been suspended indefinitely.

The news that the pop icon has postponed its production comes a week after she announced the world tour, casting doubt on the film's future.

Sources say she still wants to do the film, but at a different time, as she is currently focusing on her upcoming concerts.

“I have a very long script that is really hard for me to make shorter. I have had an extraordinary life, I have to make an extraordinary film. A lot of people were trying to make movies about me, mostly misogynistic men, but no one will tell my story but me," said the pop queen.

In June, news broke that actress Julia Garner, who most recently played fake German heiress Anna Delvey in the Netflix miniseries Inventing Anna, had been offered the lead role.

Julia reportedly beat a number of famous names, including Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, actresses Emma Laird, Alexa Demie, as well as singers such as Bebe Rexha and Sky Ferreira.
