Why did Kate Middleton wear a rented dress?
Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has chosen to appear at the second annual Earthshot Awards in a rented dress.
The London media connect this important detail in the princess's outfit, as much as with the event itself, which was about climate issues, being represented by the color green, as well as with a message:
"Meghan and Harry who? That was the message at the Princess of Wales' appearance on the red carpet at the Earthshot Awards in Boston on Friday night," writes The Telegraph.
"We know Kate is picky when it comes to her outfit. But when she wants to reach a high level, she can really do it. And she did so in a £350 green dress borrowed from British fashion rental platform Hurr, the first time she has used such a service,” the British tabloid continues.
The article goes on to point out that for an evening dedicated to protecting the planet, it was an impeccable choice, using this high-profile moment to defend the sharing economy, a major part of which is fashion rental.
But the green color also reminds us of the late queen's love for that shade.
The Earthshot Award is about a greener future. The couple will give the five winning projects £1 million each to help them achieve solutions that will repair our planet in the next decade.
