Former Barcelona and Brazil footballer Dani Alves was found guilty today by a Spanish court of raping a woman in a Barcelona nightclub. The event happened in the early hours of December 31, 2022. He was sentenced to four years and six months in prison.
Alves, 40, who is one of the most decorated footballers in the history of the sport, denied the story. The decision can be appealed.
According to the testimony of the rape victim, he lured her to the toilet of the VIP area in the night club and then raped her.
Alves was found guilty, sentenced to prison, and his request for bail and 50,000 euros in damages were rejected by the court.
