Karim Benzema is announced as the UEFA Player of the Year

French striker Karim Benzema was announced as the winner of the UEFA Player of the Year trophy at today's ceremony in Istanbul.

Benzema was very excited: "I am very happy, it is the first time I win this trophy, but for me the most important thing is to win trophies with the team.
