Christian Eriksen returned to international football scoring with his first touch for Denmark after suffering a cardiac arrest on the field at Euro 2020.

The 30-year-old came on as a substitute for the first half against the Netherlands in the two countries' international friendly, 287 days after falling on the pitch during Denmark's match against Finland in Copenhagen last year.

Despite Denmark eventually losing 4-2 to the Netherlands in Amsterdam, Eriksen called his return "perfect".

"I was happy the ball came to me and of course, it was a beautiful finish," Eriksen told Sky Sports. "It was the perfect way to start returning to international football.
