Covid-19 is touching our dreams

The anxiety, stress and worry brought on by Covid-19 knows no bounds during the day.

A study conducted by the American Psychological Association says that the pandemic is affecting our dreams, introducing more anxiety, negative emotions and inciting dreams about the virus itself, especially among women.

In the journal Dreaming, researchers reported the results of four studies from around the world on people's dreams during the pandemic. Previous research has shown that our dreams often reflect what is happening in our lives when we are awake. What happens to people in a pandemic situation according to the study is similar to what happens to people during disasters, terrorist attacks or war.

All of these studies support the dream continuum hypothesis, which is consistent with our concerns when we are awake.
