Some ways to improve your sex life

Some ways to improve your sex life

Studies suggest that 75% of women feel that their sex drive is decreasing.

While 40% of men experience low testosterone levels.

But there are many ways to increase sexual desire and performance.

Do physical exercises

Maintaining a healthy weight through diet and exercise is one of the most effective ways to improve sexual performance. Exercise is an incredibly powerful tool in the management of male erectile dysfunction.

Eat fruits and vegetables

A new study suggests that a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and nuts, and limiting meat and dairy, may be particularly effective in combating erectile dysfunction.

Eat sardines

A recent study of 136 men found that vitamin B12 deficiency was identified in 26.7 percent of patients with sexual desire disorder. Sardines are an excellent source of the vitamin, or can be taken in supplement form.

Use dental floss

Many studies have confirmed a strong link between gum disease and erectile dysfunction, including one in the Journal of Peridontology that found men with severe gum disease were more than twice as likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction erectile than those with healthy teeth and gums.

Fix your snoring

Research suggests that about half of men with sleep apnea also suffer from erectile dysfunction, which is likely because they have lower testosterone levels.

For Women

As women approach menopause and beyond, estrogen levels drop dramatically, which can have a major impact on sexual function, reducing desire and making arousal more difficult.

Eating good fats such as oily fish, avocados, nuts, seeds and olive oil can help support the body to produce lubrication.

Eat an apple a day

A study of 731 women found that eating an apple a day for six months improved arousal, lubrication and pleasure, possibly due to antioxidants that increase blood flow.

Just experiment

A new study, the first of its kind, shows that women who have had Covid-19 have less desire, pleasure and fewer orgasms compared to those who have never been infected. Researchers at Boston University suggest that prolonged Covid may alter blood flow to the genitals, resulting in less arousal. Masturbation can increase blood flow, help relieve tissue and moisture problems, and increase libido.

Men and women

Get out in the sun

Vitamin D is vital for optimal sexual function for both men and women. For men, research has shown a link between low vitamin D levels and the severity of erectile dysfunction, while for women, low levels can cause low estrogen and, in turn, low sex drive.

Swim in cold water

Studies conducted by the UK Thrombosis Research Institute show that cold water immersion increases testosterone in men, increasing libido.

For women, an icy dip not only increases estrogen and a surge in endorphins, the happy hormones, but has also been shown to reduce menopausal symptoms such as mood swings and hot flashes.

Practice Yoga

A study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that yoga improved sexual function in 75 percent of women over 40 who participated. After 12 weeks of practice, the women reported significant improvements in all sections of the index of female sexual function (a widely used questionnaire to measure female sexual health): desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, pleasure and pain. For men, too, the benefits are well documented. Research by Dr Vikas Dhikav, a neurologist from New Delhi, India, found that 12 weeks of yoga made significant improvements in male participants' sexual function, including desire, erection, ejaculation control and orgasm.

Keep doing

According to research, men who have sex less than once a week are twice as likely to have erectile dysfunction, while women may find sex more painful. The easiest way to improve sex drive and function is to do it consistently.
