Are discussions with your partner turning into fights? Here's what you

Have you ever tried to discuss work, personal or financial matters with your partner? And did the discussion end up getting messy? Do the two of you often end up fighting and never being able to come to a mutual decision? Do not worry. It is common. Not that your relationship is bad or you two are not made for each other. It is only a reflection of differences in opinion.

Here are some things to help you sort things out.

Listen to what your partner is saying

Most fights happen because one partner, or even both, is not willing to listen to what the other has to say. While it's okay to think of yourself as a perfectionist and a master at handling situations, it's also important to listen to your partner's advice or opinion. This will help you make better and shared decisions and eliminate arguments. So even if you don't agree with your partner's thought process, stay calm, explain to him where he's going wrong and what you think would be the best alternative. Involve them and ask for advice.

Do not interrupt when he/she is talking

Most of us have a bad habit of losing our temper and cutting people off while they're talking because we think they don't have something great to share. However, it is too early to make a judgment. Therefore, be patient enough to let the person complete and then give your opinion or suggestions. Be the bigger person when it comes to compromise. Don't let your ego ruin your decision-making process.

Never dig up old memories

Forget what happened in the past. Focus on the new scenario and try to make a joint decision. Don't insist on being the right one. Give the other person space, appreciate their efforts and value their words. No one wants to knowingly make a bad decision. Be wise enough to forgive and not repeat the same old things. This is where your maturity comes into play. And when you are mature enough to focus on the present and the future, it can make the other person realize their own mistake. Finally, never play the blame game.
