The Italian stylist Elisabetta Franchi has spoken about her career and private life in Corriere della Sera.

The modest house

Elisabetta Franchi states that she did not have a simple childhood and has spoken about the episodes that happened in her early years, her family had considerable economic difficulties.

"I was born in a family of very modest origins. We had no electricity or heat, with the bailiff always at the door: my mother had built a walled room and hid our few belongings there. I never understood what my mother's work was, my biological father's name is Pasquali, but I have the last name of my mother's first husband. I was lucky, Elisabetta Pasquali doesn't go".

The designer at that time, despite the many difficulties, knew which path she wanted to follow in life: "I dreamed of beauty. Only the wrong people entered the house, the last one was an alcoholic. During arguments with our mother, we children would hide under the table or run away at night to the village. That's why I fight for women to break free from toxic relationships.”

The turning point

The designer shared how she managed to find her way over time: "At the age of 17, I met a good boy and ran away with him. I found myself in his house, with his family, parents and grandparents, a dream. I was working at the La Piazzola market in Bologna, at a lingerie stall, where I began to study women well. I sent the money home, but none of them wanted me. I worked in a bar, then in a fast fashion company, Imperial, where at first I unloaded trucks with goods. I had twenty brilliant people in front of me in business, but they lacked spark. It went on like this for 4 years, before I found the courage to move."

Meeting with the husband

Franchi shared how she met her husband, the two were together for 17 years and ran a company together. At the time of her partner's death, Franchi took full control: «I fell in love with the CEO of the company I worked for, 20 years older than me: his name was Sabatino Cennamo, he became my husband and we built our company. We were together for 17 years, we gave birth to Ginevra together. He then died within 4 months of pancreatic cancer.

Parting with Alan Scarpellini

Elisabetta Franchi recently broke up with Alan Scarpellini: “I broke up with my partner Alan Scarpellini. We were together for 16 years, he is the father of my son Leone. Then at some point either I got too big or he got too behind. We no longer had things that connected us.

Franchi confesses that he hired investigators to uncover his infidelity.

"My friends opened my eyes: I put seven investigators after him, they returned me a file with evidence. Before I opened the file, I asked him to tell me himself how things were, but he continued to lie. They also spent Christmas together for the sake of the children, and on January 4, I asked him to leave."
