Breast milk protects babies from Covid-19

Breast milk can protect babies from coronavirus.

According to a study in a laboratory in China it was found that breast milk prevents infection of babies and creates antibodies even if the baby does not have them.

This study also shows that the milk of animals is more effective than that of goats or cows.

The team, from Peking University of Chemical Technology, says the findings support the recommendation from the World Health Organization that mothers suspected or confirmed of COVID-19 continue breastfeeding.

In a previous study, the same research team found that breast milk prevents infection from entering the kidney cells of animals. They determined that whey protein, which has anti-inflammatory properties, was responsible for inactivating the virus compared to other proteins such as lactoferrin.
