Tim Cook reveals there are 4 traits he looks for in Apple employees

Tim Cook doesn't spend his days looking at resumes, but in his 11-year tenure as Apple's CEO, he's decided what it takes to succeed at the company.

Cook told graduates from the University of Naples, Italy, that he noticed that Apple's success depends on the culture of the company and on the employees who are chosen. The company usually looks for employees with four common skills: the ability to collaborate, creativity, curiosity and expertise.

"It's been a very good formula for us," he said, noting that these traits also contribute to an ambitious but supportive workplace culture.

He said the reason collaboration is so important is because it combines the other three skills.

“We look for people who think differently — who can look at a problem and not get caught up in the dogma of how that problem has always been [solved],” he said. "It's a cliché, but there are no useless questions. It's amazing when someone starts asking questions like a child would."
