The first all-electric passenger plane has successfully taken to the skies. The Israeli company, Eviation Aircraft, successfully launched the plane named Alice from the runway at the Grant County International Airport in Washington. Alice stayed in the sky for 8 minutes.
The aircraft produces no carbon emissions, reduces noise and costs less.
With battery technology similar to that of an electric car, or a mobile phone and 30 minutes of charging, the nine-passenger Alice will be able to fly for an hour and about 440 nautical miles. The plane has a top speed of 287 miles per hour.
