Apple plans to put more ads on iPhones

Apple is planning to expand advertising in iPhone apps in an effort to increase revenue, according to Bloomberg.

The company currently generates about $4 billion in annual revenue from its advertising business.

Apple already displays ads in some apps, such as Apple News and Stocks. The company also recently announced plans to expand advertising in the App Store.

Bloomberg reports that the company is considering ways to add ads to Apple Maps, as well as Podcasts and Books.

Analysts comment that Apple's next major revenue stream is from advertising.
