Telegram converts the voice messages your friends send you into text

Telegram has introduced a number of new features for Android and iOS this week. One of the most important changes is the transcription of voice messages.

In the latest update released on Thursday, Telegram said that everyone will be able to transcribe voice messages. Until today this option was offered for a fee in the $4.99 Telegram Premium subscription.

Now the audio that someone sends you is not only transcribed, but can also be translated.

There is one limitation though: Only Premium Telegram subscribers have unlimited access to transcriptions – free users will be limited to converting just two messages per week. However, this is better than nothing and can be useful in rare situations.

When can it serve?

Or when you have a work audio, or if you are with people around and you don't want to open the voice message. So you just read it.

Telegram is also introducing "Similar Channels", which provides a list of other public channels that may be of interest when users join a new channel.
